Abstract: The species of genus Scelio L. are exclusively parasitoids of Orthoptera eggs in many countries including Pakistan. During the present study information is presented on the general morphology, along with measurement of different body parameters, distribution and host specificity of this genus from Pakistan. Three species are recognized as valid for the Pakistani fauna i-e Scelio hieroglyphi (Timb.), S. aegypticus Priesner and S. mauritanicus Risbec from three host species of grasshoppers viz: Hieroglyphus perpolita (Uvarov), H. oryzivorus Carl and H. nigrorepletus I. Bolivar. Beside this, identification keys are also provided for Scelio and male of S. aegypticus is described for the first time from Pakistan.
